资源简介:

The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name, date of birth and religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade and date of leaving the school are also recorded. Provision is made to record any occupation entered into on leaving school, but after the mid-1930’s this column is more usually used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and, from 1913 until 1953, are numbered in two separate, continuous sequences. From September, 1953 onwards, the numbering of entries commences anew with each school year, and the year-number is suffixed to each entry-number; separate sequences, however, are still maintained for boys’ and girls’ entries.Although the first entries in the volume are dated to 1913, it appears that the volume was actually commenced in late 1917, and that entries of earlier date are retrospective. Only those earlier enrolments still current in 1917 have been included.A quantity of completed Application for Enrolment forms, dated 1964 and 1965, and a single Notification of Transfer, dated 1965, have been inserted loose towards the back of the volume.
