Transcriptome comparison of Arabidopsis plants expressing rice DXS and a rice DXS variant carrying a R306C polymorphism

In this study we explored the effects of overexpressing DXS from rice and a rice DXS carrying a change from arginine at position 306 to cystein on carotenoid/chlorophyll content in Arabidopsis. For this, two lines each expressing OsDXS/OsDXS-R306C under control of the cauliflower 35S promoter were generated and total RNA was isolated from seedlings and roots from hydroponically grown plants and used for RNASeq.
