The role of biochar in soil and water conservation and improved soil properties: A study on USLE plots and field condition

This study aims to conserve soil and water resources through the application of organic amendments in field conditions. The research focuses on two primary objectives: 1- Assessing the role of biochar in reducing surface runoff and soil loss 2- Examining its impact on key physical, chemical, and biological soil properties The experiment was conducted on an abandoned rain-fed hillside in northwest Iran, using standard erosion plots under natural rainfall conditions from October 2021 to March 2024. As an uncontrolled field study, it was designed to evaluate the effects of biochar application on runoff and sediment yield, as well as its influence on soil properties, without external interventions
