The Holiday Passenger Volume Ratio, used to quantify the fluctuation of passenger demand during holidays, is computed via the following formula: Holiday Passenger Volume Ratio = (Average Daily Passenger Volume during the Holiday × 200) / (Average Daily Passenger Volume of the three working days before the holiday + Average Daily Passenger Volume of the three working days after the holiday). Note: For practical scenarios, the average weekday passenger volume is defined as the "average of the three working days before and after the holiday" to eliminate the impact of long-term growth trends. This work aims to identify regular patterns of holiday passenger flows (e.g., concentrated returning-home passenger flows ahead of the Spring Festival, explosive tourism passenger flows during the National Day holiday), establish holiday passenger flow prediction models, and provide historical evidence for transport capacity preparation and emergency plan formulation for similar holidays in the future.
