1. This abstract focuses on the MODIS (MOD14A2) fire hot spot detection dataset of China from 2000 to 2023, briefly elaborating its basic profile. The dataset is based on the MODIS sensor onboard the Terra Satellite, uses radiation data from thermal infrared bands, detects active fire points and thermal anomalies through contextual algorithms, and generates 8-day composite fire hot spot products. 2. Target research institutions include universities, research institutes, enterprises and public institutions. 3. Standard quality control procedures were applied during the data production process, including cloud masking and removal of false fire points.
