Repurposing GBS swabs for maternal microbiome

This project tested the utility of re-purposing excess clinical vaginal/vaginal-rectal swabs collected as part of routine Group B Streptococcus (GBS) testing in pregnancy. The aim of this pilot study was to confirm that a reliable maternal microbiome could be obtained from the excess GBS swabs and the storage conditions prior to testing that may influence the observed microbiota.本项目评估了将妊娠期间B群链球菌（Group B Streptococcus, GBS）常规检测所剩余的临床阴道/阴道直肠拭子样本再利用的可行性。本预实验的核心目标为：验证可从剩余GBS检测拭子中获取可靠的母体微生物组，并明确检测前的储存条件对观测到的微生物群的影响。
