为了揭示蓝斑去甲肾上腺素能(LC-NE)神经元轴突突触输出特征,本研究团队结合电生理、钙离子成像、去甲肾上腺素成像等技术,首次解析出活体动物的单个LC-NE神经元动作电位串可靠地传播到不同的突触输出位点,并且不同突触输出位点的钙离子活动和NE释放均存在空间距离依赖的异质性。进一步地,神经活动参与调节LC-NE神经元的突触输出位点的异质性。本研究对于解析LC-NE神经元信息输出的可靠性和突触输出的空间组织分布规律具有重要意义
To reveal the axonal synaptic output characteristics of locus coeruleus norepinephrine (LC-NE) neurons, our research team combined techniques including electrophysiology, calcium imaging, and norepinephrine imaging, and for the first time resolved that single LC-NE neuron action potential trains reliably propagate to distinct synaptic output sites in living animals, and that both calcium activity and norepinephrine release at these synaptic output sites exhibit spatial distance-dependent heterogeneity. Furthermore, neural activity is involved in regulating the heterogeneity of the synaptic output sites of LC-NE neurons. This study is of great significance for deciphering the reliability of information output by LC-NE neurons and the spatial organizational distribution pattern of synaptic output.
