The 2023 National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBCA) dataset was jointly released by the UK's National Health Service (NHS) and national medical audit institutions. It covers the entire clinical workflow of bowel cancer diagnosis and treatment in England and Wales, and contains multi-dimensional real-world clinical data including diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and other aspects, with nationally representative samples. All data has been de-identified, complies with GDPR privacy regulations, and supports cross-institutional quality comparison. The 2023 release is an independent annual snapshot, which can be paired with historical dataset versions to construct a time series for analyzing trends in bowel cancer diagnosis and treatment. This dataset is widely applied in public health decision-making, quality assessment of medical institutions, medical research and medical insurance policy formulation, and supports the improvement of bowel cancer diagnosis and treatment standards.
