ESRF Data Policy 2024

The ESRF data policy covers the following topics: • Data ownership • Data curation • Data archiving • Open access to data The updated policy, endorsed by the ESRF management, Scientific Advisory Committee and the Council in 2023, is an update of the first ESRF data policy of 2015. The previous ESRF data policy was based on the recommendations of the PaN-data Europe Strategic Working Group common framework for scientific data management at photon and neutron facilities. The updated policy includes recommendations from the PaNOSC FAIR Research Data Policy framework [1]. The main objective of this policy is to make ESRF open data FAIR: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. The policy defined in this document applies to all data collected at ESRF in the frame of publicly funded research starting from 1 January 2024.
