ISEAR (International Survey on Emotion Antecedents and Reactions)
For many years during the 1990s, a large cohort of psychologists worldwide collected data under the ISEAR project, which was directed by Klaus R. Scherer and Harald Wallbott. Student respondents, including both psychologists and non-psychologists, were asked to report episodes during which they had experienced all seven primary emotions: joy, fear, anger, sadness, disgust, shame, and guilt. For each such episode, the survey questions covered both how they appraised the situation and their subsequent reactions. As a result, the final dataset contains reports of these seven emotions from nearly 3,000 respondents across 37 countries on five continents.
