Premature deaths due to exposure to fine particulate matter PM2.5 NUTS2 and NUTS3 (2005-2023)

This data set presents mortality attributable to exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5*) at the NUTS 2 (basic regions) and NUTS 3 (small regions) levels, since 2005. This indicator is based on the HRA calculations published at https://www.eea.europa.eu/en/datahub/datahubitem-view/49930245-dc33-4c47-93b8-9512f0622ebc *PM2.5 are particulates whose diameter is less than 2.5 micrometers and which can be carried deep into the lungs where they can cause inflammation and exacerbate the condition of people suffering heart and lung diseases.
