Plankton species abundance data collected during R/V Bellows cruise BE-1205 in the DeSoto Canyon from 2011-10-24 to 2011-10-26

This dataset reports plankton species relative abundances from sites off the Florida Panhandle Bight at the head of DeSoto Canyon. Plankton samples were collected from 16 offshore shelf sites October 24 to October 26, 2011. It includes sites, date/times,length of tow, plankton samples, counts, and the percentage of total plankton represented by each group. Plankton species were categorized as Ceratium spp., Dinophysis spp., other dinoflagellates, Chaetoceros/Bacteriastrum spp., Rhizosolenia/Guinardia spp, Eucampia/Hemiaulus spp., other chain-forming diatoms, Thalassionematales spp., Nitzschioid diatoms, other diatoms, Cyanobacteria (Trichodesmium spp.), and zooplankton.本数据集记录了德索托峡谷（DeSoto Canyon）头部海域——佛罗里达潘汉德尔湾（Florida Panhandle Bight）近海各采样点的浮游生物物种相对丰度。 2011年10月24日至26日，研究团队从16个近海陆架采样点采集了浮游生物样本。 本数据集包含采样点信息、采样日期与时间、拖网作业时长、浮游生物样本、物种计数结果，以及各分类类群浮游生物占总浮游生物的百分比。 本次研究将浮游生物物种划分为以下类群：角藻属（Ceratium spp.）、双甲藻属（Dinophysis spp.）、其他甲藻类、角刺藻属/硅鞭藻属（Chaetoceros/Bacteriastrum spp.）、根管藻属/圭尔达藻属（Rhizosolenia/Guinardia spp.）、圆筛藻属/半管藻属（Eucampia/Hemiaulus spp.）、其他链状硅藻、海链藻目类群（Thalassionematales spp.）、菱形藻类硅藻（Nitzschioid diatoms）、其他硅藻、蓝细菌（束毛藻属（Trichodesmium spp.））以及浮游动物。
