Both clothianidin and thiamethoxam belong to neonicotinoid insecticides commonly used for controlling underground pests. Thiamethoxam is the lead compound of clothianidin, and it exerts insecticidal activity only after being metabolized into clothianidin. Both substances are harmful to human health, and the national standard has stipulated their maximum residue limits (MRLs). These insecticides are widely applied in ginger cultivation, and cases of excessive residue have been reported. This dataset conducts analysis and evaluation on the residues of clothianidin and thiamethoxam in ginger samples randomly sampled from Xiuzhou District, providing reference data and technical support for government food safety supervision. The work includes four main parts: 1. Data Collection: Collect sample-related information including the quantity, name and unique serial number of each sample. 2. Data Detection: The detection method is formulated in accordance with the National Food Safety Standard "GB 23200.39-2016: Determination of Residues of Thiamethoxam and Its Metabolite Clothianidin in Foods by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry". Quantitative detection of clothianidin and thiamethoxam residues in ginger samples is performed via mass spectrometry to obtain relevant test results. 3. Data Processing: Compare the test results with the corresponding MRLs to judge whether the residues of the two insecticides in ginger meet the standards, and screen out unqualified samples. The unqualified rate is calculated as (number of unqualified samples / total number of detected samples) × 100% for safety assessment of ginger products. 4. Data Application: These data can be used to analyze and verify whether the residues of clothianidin and thiamethoxam in ginger comply with the safety standards, so as to prevent food safety incidents caused by excessive residues of the two insecticides.
