Bali Island is situated in the western region of Indonesia’s Lesser Sunda Islands (Nusa Tenggara Islands), between the Indian Ocean and the Bali Sea. It is 2.27 km away from Java Island across the Bali Strait to the west, and 35.60 km away from Lombok Island to the east. Administratively, Bali Island falls under Bali Province of the Republic of Indonesia. Denpasar, the capital of this province, is the largest city on Bali Island, with the international tanker port Benoa located to its south. The geographic coordinates of Bali Island range from 8°3'42"S to 8°50'57"S in latitude, and 114°25'53"E to 115°42'44"E in longitude. The island has an approximate rhombus-shaped outline, with its main axis running east-west. The total area of Bali Island, calculated using the Albers projection, is 5380.22 km², while its coastline length, calculated using the Lambert projection, is 551.32 km. This dataset was compiled based on the Global Multi-scale Marine-Land (Island) Coastline Dataset (2015) derived from Google Earth remote sensing imagery, combined with relevant maps of Indonesia. The dataset is stored in .kmz and .shp formats, consisting of 23 data files with a total size of 149 KB (compressed into 3 files with a size of 110 KB).
