The survey is conducted by Statistics Norway on behalf of Levekårsnemnda for kunstnere, appointed by the Ministry of Church Affairs and Education. The purpose was to provide statistics on artists' income conditions which may form the basis for negotiations, grants and guaranteed incomes etc.
