Temperature profile and water depth data were collected using BT and XBT casts from the USS MERRILL in the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Oman. Data were collected from 05 April 1988 to 11 April 1988 by the US Navy; Ships Of Opportunity (SOOP).温度剖面与水深数据采集工作依托温深仪（BT, Bathythermograph）与投弃式温深仪（XBT, Expendable Bathythermograph）的施放作业，由美国海军"梅里尔号"（USS MERRILL）在印度洋、阿拉伯海及阿曼湾海域完成。数据采集时段为1988年4月5日至1988年4月11日，采集工作由美国海军借助机会观测船（Ships Of Opportunity, SOOP）完成。
