South West Farm Soil Systems and Targeted Industry Engagement

The Whole Farm Soil Systems and Targeted Industry Engagement sub project, will assist farming enterprises better understand and manage their soils and nutrients. Investment in whole farm soil nutrient mapping on properties in the SWCC higher rainfall area will deliver actions that involve extensive soil nutrient sampling and related best management practice extension. Through engagement in extension activities, participating landholders will better understand how appropriate nutrient application will increase productivity while providing ecosystem services including reduced nutrient losses. A further selection of properties will be involved in a comprehensive analysis of the physical, biological and chemical parameters of their soils, identification of major soil health issues and implementation of on-farm demonstrations to rectify or manage the identified issues through implementation of broader soil health best management practices and engagement with industry bodies.全农场土壤系统与产业精准对接子项目，将助力农业企业更好地认知并管理自身土壤与养分状况。针对SWCC高降雨区域内的农场地块开展全农场土壤养分测绘，将落地一系列涵盖大规模土壤养分采样及相关最佳管理实践推广的工作。通过参与此类推广活动，参与农户将更清晰地了解，合理施用养分既能提升生产效率，还可提供包括降低养分流失在内的生态系统服务。另有部分地块将参与土壤物理、生物及化学参数的全面分析，明确主要土壤健康问题，并开展田间示范项目，通过推广更广泛的土壤健康最佳管理实践、对接行业机构，以纠正或管控已识别的相关问题。
