Self-employed; income, property, region, 2007-2016

This table provides information on the income and wealth of self-employed persons by region. These are people for whom self-employment is the main source of income. A distinction is made by type of self-employed person and economic activity. The data are broken down by various regional divisions, from municipality to country. Reference date of target population, wealth, and municipal breakdown is 1 January of the reporting year. For the older years 2007 to 2010, the reference date of capital is 1 January of the year following the research year. All figures in this table are at person level, including capabilities; (business) assets are determined by household, and are assigned to all persons in the household as a measure of prosperity. Reference date of target population and assets is 1 January of the reporting year. For the older years 2007 to 2010, the reference date of capital is 1 January of the year following the reporting year. The General Business Register (ABR) is used to determine the SBI of self-employed persons. The ABR suffered several trend breaks in the period 2007-2011. This leads to a sharp decrease in the number of self-employed in financial services (K) in 2010. Therefore, caution should be taken when comparing the figures to SBI.
