Millennium Ecosystem Assessment: MA Ecosystems

The Millennium Ecosystem Assessment: MA Ecosystems provides data and information on the extent and classification of ecosystems that include coastal, cultivated, forest and woodlands, inland water bodies, islands, marine, mountains (elevation), polar, and urban circa 2000, as well as socioeconomic reporting units and location information of regional MA projects. This assessment focused on how humans have altered ecosystems, how changes in ecosystem services have affected human well-being, how ecosystem changes may affect people in future decades, and what types of responses can be adopted at local, national, or global scales to improve ecosystem management and thereby contribute to human well-being and poverty alleviation.千年生态系统评估（Millennium Ecosystem Assessment，MA）生态系统数据集提供了约2000年的各类生态系统的范围与分类数据及信息，涵盖沿海、耕地、森林与林地、内陆水体、岛屿、海洋、山地（海拔）、极地及城市生态系统，同时包含社会经济报告单元与区域MA项目的位置信息。本评估聚焦四大核心研究内容：人类如何改造生态系统、生态系统服务变化对人类福祉的影响、未来数十年生态系统变化可能对人类产生的影响，以及可在地方、国家或全球层面采取何种应对措施以改善生态系统管理，进而助力人类福祉提升与减贫工作。
