The 'Regesta' of Nicholas I Dataset

This is a selective data set covering 286 entries of Nicholas I's correspondence, with the information and contents translated from the Regesta Imperrii (<em><strong>Die Regesten des Kaiserreiches unter den Karolingern 751-918. Band 4, Papstregesten 800-911, </strong></em><strong>vol. 2/2 ed. Klaus Herbers (Cologne 2012), n.421-870, available online at </strong><strong>http://www.regesta-imperii.de/regesten/1-4-2-papstregesten.html</strong> ). All translations were edited and made using the free translator DeepL (https://www.deepl.com/en/translator). Selections were made on the basis of trying to limit it to Nicholas's most important literal correspondence, and so excluding grants, copies of synods, and gifts etc. Forgeries were also not included. Hopefully the data can be used as a useful tool for producing visualisations and anlaysing his correspondence.
