Oxygen and carbon isotopes from benthic and planktonic foraminifers at DSDP Leg 74 Holes

Oxygen and carbon isotope measurements have been made in picked planktonic and benthonic foraminifers from the five sites drilled on Leg 74, covering the whole Cenozoic. For the Neogene, the coverage gives good information on the development of the vertical temperature structure of Atlantic deep water. For the Paleogene, vertical gradients were weak and it is possible to combine data from different sites to obtain a very detailed record of both the temperature and carbon isotope history of Atlantic deep waters.本数据集对第74航次（Leg 74）5个钻探站位获取的经分选浮游及底栖有孔虫（foraminifers）开展了氧同位素与碳同位素测试，测试覆盖整个新生代（Cenozoic）时期；针对新近纪（Neogene），该数据集的采样覆盖范围可为大西洋深层水垂直温度结构的演化提供详实数据；针对古近纪（Paleogene），其垂直温度梯度较弱，可通过整合不同站位的数据，构建大西洋深层水温度与碳同位素演化的高精度记录。
