General Statistical Areas

This dataset contain the seven Fisheries Statistical Areas: General (Inshore), General, Freshwater Eel, Oyster, Paua, Rock Lobster and Scallop. The OYU5 (Foveaux Strait) Fishery Grid and Sub-statistical areas for freshwater eels are also present. General Statistical are aligned to authoritative Exclusive Economic Zone and Fisheries Management Area boundaries, as well as legislated coordinates where applicable. Freshwater Eel, Oyster, Paua, Rock Lobster and Scallop statistical areas boundaries are mapped using approximated landmarks and are considered reasonably accurate but not authoritative.
