For this work a lake ecosystem in N. Wales, UK (Llyn Padarn) was sampled for a year (Sept 2013- Sept 2014). Two litre water samples and Chironomid Pupal Exuviae samples were collected. Both sample types were DNA extracted and MiSeq sequenced (metabarcoding approach) to provide temporal estimates of biodiversity.
