Metadata Analysis of Selected Data Repositories

We harvested and parsed all publicly available metadata from Dryad, GBIF (datasets only), PANGAEA, Zenodo and Figshare in May and October 2019 from ther OAI-PMH interfaces and determined whether they utilize metadata elements that reflect scholarly search interests from biodiversity research. The provided zip files contain the parsed data; we extracted the available keywords in general fields such as dc:subject in DublinCore. For a subset of the data, we inspected the content with text mining tools.
