EXAMINATION OF BULK SOIL AND DETRITAL CHARCOAL FROM ALONG THE SPRAGUE RIVER AND MILLER CREEK IN SOUTHERN OREGON

Five detrital charcoal samples from along the Sprague River in southern Oregon were identified prior to radiocarbon analysis. A single bulk soil sample from along Miller Creek was floated to recover organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon analysis. Botanic components and detrital charcoal were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable material was separated.针对俄勒冈州南部斯普雷格河沿岸采集的5份碎屑炭（detrital charcoal）样品，在开展放射性碳分析前已完成物种鉴定。采集自米勒溪沿岸的1份混合土壤样品经浮选法处理，以回收适用于放射性碳分析的有机碎屑。随后完成了植物组分与碎屑炭的鉴定，并分离出具备放射性碳定年潜力的材料。
