LOD1 building heights are automatically determined by calculating an average value from the heights of the laser scanner data within the floor plans. For photogrammetric measurement, the mean value between ridge and eave height is used.
Floor plans may be divided if this average differs too much from the building parts due to different heights (> 2 m, > 20 m2) and then new averages of the building parts are calculated. Thus, in the LOD1 block model, an accurate representation of the roof landscape is achieved, depending on the roof shape, the absolute height accuracy is < 3 m.
