Proposed Railway System for East Nusa Tenggara Islands, Indonesia

This dataset comprises shapefiles representing the urban system and proposed railway network for the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) islands, Indonesia. It includes point data for small and medium cities and towns across Timor, Flores, and Sumba islands, and line data for 29 proposed railway routes totalling 2,320.5 kilometres. These routes were identified using Least Cost Path (LCP) analysis based on reclassified slope data. The dataset facilitates the examination of potential railway alignments, their interactions with protected areas, and their impacts on cultural landscapes. It serves as a valuable resource for assessing the feasibility and developmental priorities of the proposed railway system and its broader implications for regional development and sustainability.
