Federal and State-Level Election Results since 1955

Description The most comprehensive standardised dataset on Malaysian federal and state elections from 1955 to the present. It draws on official election reports to provide well-curated panel datasets covering federal, state, and by-elections. I thank the Election Commission of Malaysia for providing access to physical records of election results via Pusat Sumber SPR (Putrajaya), Nimesha Thevananthan for assistance with data collection, Danesh Prakash Chacko of Tindak Malaysia for historical insights and gap-filling (particularly for the Sabah state election in 1971), and the MyElectionData volunteers for their assistance with the completion and validation of candidate UID harmonisation and candidate demographic data.
