Genomic diversity and natural recombination of Equid gammaherpesvirus 5 isolates

The study aimed to investigate genome diversity and recombination in EHV5 genomes. Recombination can drive diversity and evolution in viruses, and the results from this study suggest that recombination is a contributing factor to EHV5 genomic diversity. These findings provide additional insights into the genetic heterogeneity of the EHV5 genome.
