Plantae_GT_Research data for Identification of Important Plant Areas for flora conservation in Guatemala_database.zip

This study identifies 43 potential Important Plant Areas (IPA) in Guatemala, a biodiversity hotspot, covering 3.54% of the national territory. Using data from the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), this study assesses threatened species, botanical richness, and endemism through a multi-criteria hierarchical analysis (MCDM-AHP). The findings highlight the urgency for targeted conservation strategies to address deforestation, agricultural expansion, and climate change, providing a foundation for future conservation and policy efforts.
