swedish_medical_ner is a named entity recognition (NER) dataset for Swedish medical texts. It comprises three subsets sourced from three distinct resources: Swedish Wikipedia (wiki), Läkartidningen (lt), and 1177 Vårdguiden (1177). The combined Swedish Wikipedia and Läkartidningen subsets contain over 790,000 sequences, each consisting of 60 characters. The 1177 Vårdguiden subset is manually annotated, containing 927 sentences and 2,740 annotations, of which 1,574 are diseases and findings, 546 are medications, and 620 are body structures. The texts in the Swedish Wikipedia and Läkartidningen subsets were automatically annotated using a list of medical seed terms, whereas the sentences in the 1177 Vårdguiden subset were manually annotated.
