This letter was written by Evelyn Gedge [1888-1974] to her cousin Paul Gedge [1903-1968]. Evelyn's father, Rev Edward Lionel Gedge [1861-1932] was the Rector of St George's, Gravesend. The letter must date from late 1915 or early 1916 because Paul won a scholarship to Charterhouse in 1916 and the letter mentions his studies for this.
