城市化会直接消耗全球大片农田,了解城市化进程对农田的影响十分重要,我们选择2002–2017年城市化耕地流失研究。本研究首次对21世纪以来中国大陆345个地级市及以上城市进行了连续调查,揭示了城市级别(城市等级:一至六线城市)和城市化模式(特大城市、城市、乡镇和乡村模式)对耕地损失的影响。我们发现,更高一线城市的损失更为直接和严重。具体而言,最近80%以上的城市化是在一线城市的耕地上形成的,新一线城市损失最严重。在国家层面上,特大城市模式的城市化导致耕地直接损失(80%),村庄模式的城市化与高质量比例显著相关(45%)。城镇模式比乡村模式更节约耕地。但在低线城市,城市化模式的排名不明显,甚至发生了变化。在全国范围内,约1.45%的耕地面积(约2297平方公里/年)已经永久消失,其中1.06%的优质耕地面积(约852平方公里/年)已经永久消失。耕地损失最快的年份为2009年(3464 km2),优质耕地损失最快的年份为2007年(1775 km2)。超过95%的耕地损失位于胡焕庸线以东。
Urbanization directly consumes large tracts of farmland globally, making it critically important to understand the impact of urbanization on farmland. This study focuses on research regarding urbanization-induced cropland loss from 2002 to 2017. For the first time, this study conducted a continuous survey of 345 prefecture-level cities and above in mainland China since the 21st century, revealing the impacts of urban hierarchy (urban tiers: first- to sixth-tier cities) and urbanization patterns (megacity, city, township, and rural patterns) on cropland loss. We found that higher-tier cities experience more direct and severe cropland losses. Specifically, over 80% of recent urbanization has occurred on cropland in first-tier cities, and new first-tier cities suffer the most severe losses. At the national level, urbanization following the megacity pattern directly causes 80% of total cropland loss, while urbanization via the rural (village) pattern is significantly correlated with 45% of high-quality cropland loss. The urban pattern saves more cropland than the rural pattern. However, in lower-tier cities, the ranking of urbanization patterns in terms of cropland conservation is not distinct, and even changes. Nationwide, approximately 1.45% of total cropland area (about 2297 km² per year) has been permanently lost, of which 1.06% of high-quality cropland area (about 852 km² per year) has been permanently lost. The year with the fastest cropland loss was 2009 (3464 km²), while the year with the fastest loss of high-quality cropland was 2007 (1775 km²). Over 95% of cropland loss occurs east of the Hu Line (also known as the Heihe-Tengchong Line).
