According to JGJ/T27-2014 Standard for Test Methods of Welded Joints of Reinforcing Bars, the standard value of ultimate tensile strength for welded joints with steel bar grade HRB400B and nominal diameter ranging from 6 mm to 50 mm is ≥540 MPa. Per JGJ18-2012 Code for Welding and Acceptance of Reinforcing Bars, when testing the uniaxial tensile performance of mechanical connection joints, three specimens are tested using hydraulic universal testing machines WES-600B (or WE-1000B) to obtain the ultimate load values when the steel bars fracture. Three measured ultimate tensile strength values are calculated with the formula: Measured Ultimate Tensile Strength = Ultimate Load / (π*(Nominal Diameter/2)²).
