Data for: "Method matters: Use of thermal-imaging drones to assess the assumptions of density estimation techniques"

We conducted thermal-imaging drone surveys to quantify the distribution and behavior of white-tailed deer adjacent to gravel roads in Iowa, USA. This dataset contains two CSV files, one R script that reproduces the analysis conducted for this project, and two MP4 files of video footage captured by the drone. The data was used to examine how thermal-imaging drones could be used to assess the assumptions of a distance sampling framework to analyze nocturnal spotlight survey data.
