Ground-based radar-sounding surveys derived from US radar sounders (JARE60)
Ground-based radar-sounding surveys were carried out at southern area from Dome Fuji station during the period from 18 december 2018 to 8 January 2019. We used two radar systems as follows. (1) The multi-channel, VHF wideband radar system developed by the University of Kansas for fine-resolution measurements of the interior and based of ice sheets, and (2) the ultra-wideband microwave radar system developed by the University of Alabama for snow and firn measurements. Distance of the survey is 1340km at the southern area from Dome Fuji station, and 546km from the base camp of the JARE60 traverse campaign to ARP2.
