We determined various geochemical parameters and reaction rates: methane, sulfate, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), δ¹³C of DIC, total organic carbon (TOC), δ¹³C of TOC, sulfides, acid volatile sulfide (AVS), chromium reducible sulfur (CRS), reactive Fe, and their sulfur isotopic signatures (specifically δ³⁴S for sulfate, AVS and CRS), as well as sulfate reduction rate (SR) and anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM) in cold seep sediments from the South China Sea (SCS). During a research cruise in May 2022 aboard the research vessel R/V Dongfanghong 3, we conducted radiotracer measurements to quantify SR and AOM at a sampling station located on the northeastern slope of the South China Sea, with coordinates 22°06.922'N, 119°17.130'E.
