Follow-up study of patients with tibial fracture osteosynthesised with medullary nail at Aalborg Hospital, 1998-2008

This is a follow-up study of patients with tibial fractures (shin bone fractures) who have been operated using intramedullary nails between 1998 and 2008 at Aalborg Hospital. The aim of the study is to assess the patients’ opinion about their knee. The patients where asked to fill out questionnaires using KOOS (Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score). KOOS measures the following factors: - Symptoms - Stiffness - Pain - Function in daily living, sport and recreation. - Quality of life. Furthermore, information obtained from the patients’ medical records is included in the study. This includes information on: - Type of fracture. - Type of nail - Recovery - Complications - Etc.
