The specific pressure of bearings for large AC/DC variable-speed motors is one of the critical parameters governing bearing performance, which directly impacts load-bearing capacity, wear, service life, and stiffness, among other key aspects. Given the substantial influence of bearing specific pressure on bearing performance, full consideration must be given to this parameter during the design and selection of bearings for large AC/DC variable-speed motors, to ensure the performance and service life of the bearings during operational use. Bearing specific pressure (also referred to as load specific pressure) encompasses two categories: radial specific pressure and transverse specific pressure of bearings. The radial specific pressure of a bearing is defined as the ratio of the load borne by the bearing to its radial contact area, while the transverse specific pressure is defined as the ratio of the load borne by the bearing to its radial contact area. 1. Data Collection: Upon completion of machining for the bearings of large AC/DC variable-speed motors, the inner diameter of the bearing shells is measured using an inside micrometer, the width of the bearing shells is measured with a vernier caliper, and the radial and transverse working loads of a single bearing are measured via a load testing machine. 2. Data Processing: The radial and transverse specific pressure values of synchronous motor bearings are calculated through the following formulas: - Radial Specific Pressure (N/mm²) = (Radial Working Load of Bearing (Kg) × 10) / (Bearing Shell Diameter (mm) × Effective Width of Bearing Shell (mm)) - Transverse Specific Pressure (N/mm²) = (Transverse Working Load of Bearing (Kg) × 10) / (Bearing Shell Diameter (mm) × Effective Width of Bearing Shell (mm)) 3. Data Evaluation: With reference to the radial and transverse specific pressure standards for large AC/DC variable-speed motor bearings, a bearing is deemed qualified if its radial specific pressure value ≤ 1.5 N/mm² and transverse specific pressure value ≤ 1.0 N/mm²; conversely, it is judged unqualified if the radial specific pressure value > 1.5 N/mm² and transverse specific pressure value > 1.0 N/mm².
