POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR THE HAUL ROAD SITE (48SW11645), WYOMING

The Haul Road site (48SW11645), located on a north-facing slope of a low ridge overlooking Tenmile Draw, exhibits evidence of multiple occupations. The Opal Phase of the Early Archaic and the Uinta Phase of the Late Prehistoric are both represented at the site, although not necessarily in the pollen record. Slab-lined basins, which were sampled for pollen analysis, are common during the Opal Phase occupation. Pollen analysis examined these basins, located in both the South and North Blocks, as well as a mano and an occupational surface, for evidence of subsistence activity.
