资源简介:

Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this pilot study examines the adoption, beliefs, and motivations surrounding consumer wearables for health management among African American church leaders and college students. Results revealed that church leaders had higher odds of wearable adoption compared to students, contrary to expectations. Primary motivations included increasing physical activity (55% of leaders, 27% of students) and tracking health information. Both groups primarily used devices to monitor steps, workouts, and heart rate. While students demonstrated greater awareness of specific health-related attributes, both groups showed similar overall perceived knowledge of wearable benefits. Age negatively influenced adoption likelihood, while gender and sample group significantly affected non-users' willingness to adopt wearables.
