Bright X-ray counterparts of galactic 3FGL sources

We propose to followup the most interesting Xray sources discovered during thesurvey of unidentified Fermi sources that we carried out with Swift. The surveytargeted a subsample of Fermi sources that we expect to be dominated by pulsarsalong with HMXBs, PWNe, and SNRs. In the proposed deeper XMMNewton observationswe aim to constrain the spectrum of the 3 brightest sources, as well as searchfor variabilities, periodicities, and extended emission. Identifying the natureof these sources will allow us to better understand the population of galacticparticle accelerators, in particular, pulsars, PWNe, and HMXBs detected in bothgammarays and Xrays.
