Structural characterization of zeolites and activated carbons for the adsorption of metal in waste water

In this study we will analyzed zeolites and activated carbons material used to remove different metals from waters. The samples powders have been previously batched with waste waters solutions containing different concentration of various heavy metals (As, Se, Tl). They have then been dried and pelleted to be analyzed with XAS. At BM08 we will measure the absorption spectra of the metals to understand their coordination, oxidation states and adsorption site.
