A near saturation mariner mutant library produced in the Streptococcus pyogenes strain 5448 was screened by Tn-seq in an in vivo mouse model of subepithelial tissue infection. Ratios of mutant abundance were determined at different times points (12, 24 and 48 h post-infection). Two yet uncharacterized genes, scfA and scfB, encoding putative membrane-associated proteins were further characterized, and RNA-seq data used to look at scfAB transcription.
