The collection consists of:- a) plant material (ephemeral collection) – leaves, fruit & root cuttings b) cultural information – Aboriginal folklore about Bush Tomato plants and usage c) ecological information – collection site descriptions of soil, vegetation and aspect, along with GPS locations d) genetic data – molecular genetics data on DNA fragment characteristics of different S. centrale accessions, and chloroplast DNA fragment data on related Solanum species for comparative analysis e) phytochemical data – glycoalkaloid characterisation and concentration data from the different S. centrale accessions for potential toxicity assessment f) field trial data – data on plant cropping performance and phenotypic characteristics for plant improvement selection
