Molecular epidemiology of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae in Osaka, Japan. Enterobacteriaceae

The purpose of this project is to investigate whether and to what extent infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae are expanding in Osaka, Japan; to identify plasmids and its carrying carbapenemase genes responsible for the resistance; to unveil the mechanism whereby resistant bacteria spread in this region.
