This database integrates ground meteorological station networks, satellite imagery, and model data, and generates vegetation and precipitation indices via an open-source spatial data infrastructure (SDI) to monitor and predict the occurrence and evolution of drought events. The system provides semi-automated, detailed, timely and comprehensive operational services to support policymakers, water resource management agencies, researchers and other stakeholders.
