Der Indikator misst, für einen jeweiligen Rohstoff, wieviel seines in der Produktion eingesetzten Materials aus recyceltem Altschrott, d.h. Schrott aus Altmaterial, besteht. Der End-of-Life Recycling Input Rate“ (EOL-RIR) Indikator berücksichtigt keinerlei Schrott, der im Fertigungsprozess entsteht (“neuer Schrott”).
