The Juno extended mission trajectory design represents the culmination of a two- year collaborative effort between the Juno navigation, science, spacecraft, and project management teams. This paper presents the science and trajectory de- sign trades explored and quantifies the ∆V impacts associated with various op- tions. Science orbit period and equator-crossing longitude grid considerations are also discussed. Ultimately, the Juno extended mission trajectory is enabled by a design methodology yielding four low-altitude Galilean satellite flybys that lower orbital period and dramatically reduce mission ∆V costs while providing exciting, previously-unanticipated scientific observation opportunities.
