Young forest age mapping at fine spatial resolution is important for increasing the accuracy of estimating land-atmosphere carbon fluxes and guiding forest management practices. In recent decades, China has actively conducted afforestation and forest protection projects, thereby, laying the foundation for the realization of carbon neutrality. However, very few datasets of the ages of young forests for the whole of China at a fine spatial resolution. The overall accuracy (OA) of the 2020 young forest age (1–31 years) map of China was 90.28%. The produced forest age map provides a basic dataset for research on the forest carbon cycle and forest ecosystem services, and important guidance for government departments.
精细空间分辨率下的幼林龄制图,对于提升陆-气碳通量估算精度、指导森林经营实践具有重要意义。近数十年来,中国积极推进造林与森林保护工程,为实现碳中和奠定了坚实基础。然而,目前针对全国范围、具备精细空间分辨率的幼林龄数据集仍较为匮乏。本研究生成的2020年中国幼林龄(1–31年)制图产品,其总体精度(Overall Accuracy,OA)达90.28%。该森林龄级制图数据集可为森林碳循环与森林生态系统服务相关研究提供基础数据支撑,同时为政府部门提供重要决策参考。
